Monstera

Thai Constellation

Size
Stable tissue culture variegation, so it will not revert to green. Every leaf has a different pattern of creamy white markings, which means no two plants are alike and yours will not match the photos. It grows more slowly than a plain Monstera, which is part of why each new leaf is worth waiting for.

Monstera deliciosa 'Thai Constellation' has large heart-shaped leaves with deep splits along the edges and holes near the middle vein. The green is scattered with creamy white to pale yellow variegation in a speckled, flecked pattern. No two leaves are marked the same. Older leaves get to 60cm across, each on a long stalk.

Growth & size

It is a climber, putting out aerial roots along its thickening stem that grab onto supports as it goes up. New leaves come out rolled from a sheath at the growing tip and open over a few days, with the variegation already set as each leaf forms. Given time and something to climb it will pass 2m indoors. It is slower than the plain green form, and most of the growth happens over the New Zealand growing season from October to April.

A note on variegation

Every plant is different and the one you get will not match the photos. We photograph current stock one by one, so just ask if you want a photo before your order ships.

Toxic to cats, dogs and people if eaten. Contains calcium oxalate crystals. Comes in a 17cm plastic nursery pot.
